A few of our Small Business Enhancement Grant recipients have been finishing up their projects, and we want to share about the impact these projects have made for the grantees! Last month we visited HOLLA School, a few blocks up Stark Street from us, to check out the new fence they built using the grant.
HOLLA is a public charter elementary school with a mission to change the academic narratives of Black, Brown, and Indigenous youth by honoring lived experiences, catalyzing genius, and centering joy. They received a $30,000 grant from Rosewood to build a new fence around their building, ensuring the safety of their students.
“This project has allowed us to just focus on the students who we believe are abundant, brilliant, creative. It just frees us up, knowing that there's a fence that's tall enough and safe enough and also beautiful. It gives us the ability to focus on them and not worry about what's happening on the other side. It also helps our community know we're here and we're doing the work and we're really proud of it.” - Tate Brown, HOLLA School
We are thrilled to see the transformative impact this grant program is making for our neighbors!
