Eligibility Requirements: To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be located within The Rosewood Initiative’s NPI district (Check Location)

• The project must be "sticks and bricks," meaning it involves permanent improvements or construction that cannot be moved from the site. Improvements can be either interior or exterior.

• The business must have a physical storefront or space accessible to the public.

• The applicant must provide a 20% match of the grant amount (waivers available for financial hardship).

• The business must obtain at least two quotes from contractors to determine a reasonable budget for the project.

• The project must be completed within one year of grant approval.

• If renting, the business must have at least two years remaining on their lease.

• Applicants must demonstrate how their business contributes to the community and aligns with the goals of the Rosewood Storefront Grant.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so businesses can apply at any time.

This grant is designed to support businesses that contribute to the vitality, safety, and economic development of the Rosewood community. Priority is given to businesses that:

• Enhance the neighborhood’s appearance through renovations or improvements

• Create a welcoming space for customers and community members

• Support local economic activity and business growth

We aim for this grant program to serve businesses reflective of the diversity of the Rosewood neighborhood, and address systemic barriers faced by business owners who are people of color, immigrants & refugees, and/or women.
