Donate to Food Pantry or Volunteer in Portland | Support Your Neighbors

ree

At our recent food pantry before Thanksgiving, we were able to supply fresh produce and shelf-stable staples to about 125 people - our largest food pantry yet! Every Wednesday, The Rosewood Initiative invites all members of our East Portland community to visit our free Food Pantry. We stock our pantry weekly with fresh, culturally relevant produce and shelf-stable goods. Throughout November, we have seen increasing interest in our food pantry program. A line forms outside of our door every Wednesday morning. With rising food costs and recent cuts to SNAP, this program has become essential in supporting our neighbors.

Food is essential to our health, dignity and emotional well-being. Want to be a part of making our food pantry happen? We always welcome volunteers at our food pantry packing days! Sign up to volunteer on our volunteer page.

You can also support our food pantry by donating to our Willamette Week Give!Guide campaign! A one-time contribution of just $30 helps us purchase roughly 20 lbs of staple foods such as rice, beans, and canned vegetables enough to support about 25 to 30 hearty meals for neighbors in need.
