Friends of Parklane Park presents

The Parklane Neighborhood Fair

Thursday, August 25th

At Parklane Park:  SE 155th and Main St

Please join Friends of Parklane Park, local organizations, and neighbors for an evening of family fun and activities in Parklane Park, a future signature park for East Portland.  Please come and learn about the future plans for Parklane Park, meet some wonderful neighbors from the Centennial Neighborhood, and see community in action. Come learn how you can join us in working to develop Parklane Park.

Parklane Park is a 25-acre park in the Centennial Neighborhood with only five acres currently developed as a neighborhood park.  The additional 20 acres were acquired by the City of Portland in 2006, and has a Master Plan approved by the city council for future development.  Together, these two parcels form one of the largest parks in outer East Portland and have the potential to provide recreation opportunities the area is lacking.

There are many free activities at the fair that start at 4:00 pm, but the key event for community leaders starts at 6:00 pm. We invite you, as a community leader, to join us at 6:00 pm to see the plan for the park’s future.  A number of elected officials from the City of Portland have confirmed their attendance at the fair, and Friends of Parklane Park are taking the officials on a tour of the park’s 20-acres of undeveloped land.  Your presence on the tour will help show the elected officials how much the community cares about the park and will help enable the park’s Master Plan to become a reality.

We would love to have you join us on August 25th at Parklane Park!  In order to help us plan effectively, we would appreciate it if you could confirm your role in the event by July 22nd.  Please let Julie Skarphol know by calling her at 503-762-7915 or e-mailing her at parklaneparents@hotmail.com .
