Community Garden Groundbreaking!

Writer: Jossie de la GarzaJossie de la Garza

A couple dozen folks from Outgrowing Hunger, We Are Oregon and the Rosewood neighborhood spent the afternoon in the sunshine yesterday digging up new plots for a community garden.  The garden is located in the Lynwood Friends church field, just south of Alder on 162nd Ave.  We are really excited to start things off this year with 5,000 square feet of planting space.  There’s plenty of room to expand down the road! The garden is being managed by Adam from Outgrowing Hunger in a participatory way, which means that in order to get food from the garden, you need to be a part of the team and register to help take care of the garden.  Visit OutgrowingHunger.org or come by Rosewood Cafe (609 SE 162nd Ave) for more info!
