Announcment! Announcement!
Plan to come join us for the MAXaction Townhall Work Session, 5:30pm to 8:30pm Thursday November 18, 2010 at Glenfair Church (50 NE 143rd). Food prepared by a local small business will be provided.
MAXaction kicked off with a successful volunteer event at the end of the Summer. Over 40 volunteers shared multiple shifts at the Blue Line Max Stations from Gateway to 162nd. Over 500 people have signed up to become supporters of MAXaction‘s work to make the MAX a safer and stronger community asset for East Portland.
MAXaction has collected nearly 1000 surveys, concluding that top priorities were (1) increasing public safety and (2) increasing cleanliness. The Townhall Work Session will briefly review the survey results, announce raffle winners, and commit to actions we can take that will result in safer and cleaner MAX stations and station areas. How would you support an adopt-a-stop group or a foot patrol?
Participants and hosts will include local residents along with State Representative Jefferson Smith, Emerging Community Leader Spirit of Portland Award winner Tom Barnes, transit leaders, law enforcement leaders, neighborhood leaders and more.
